Yeah, that was the same thing with me and my windows machines for years (i think I remember it working properly at one point though). I heard they recently fixed it though.

From experience (this was a few years ago, but still holds up even today), yes. The GUI installer is very easy to use (there’s lots of visual stuff to). The one thing that the installer does better that the Debian installer, in my opinion, is partitioning (there’s more visual aids (a slider you can move around, I believe) (a disclaimer: this is basedoff of materials that i read online, not any personal experience)).

If you want images and stuff, you can always look up ‘Calamares installer’ (which I believe is the installer Mint uses)

I do think it’s stupid that there’s no complete block feature in Lemmy. Also just found out that it apparently has a slower development speed compared to PieFed (with regards to features). This, and the founders of lemmy, are some factors making me consider switching to PieFed. I also heard that there were more features, but also stability concerns. Also most of those extra features are not there on mobile clients yet i believe.

I also checked, and Lemmy login does not work on PieFed.

True. But at the very least, get a dongle or wired earphones that directly connect to the phone (usb-c earphones exist, not sure about lighting connector). They are also not too expensive, compared to wireless earphones.

Used Saily while on vacation. Loved it. Switched on thee same day (where I was going there is a 3 day wait on SIM activation I believe), and the connection was pretty good.

bluetooth would obv. be slower, but it’s fine for small files imo. you definately start to feel the slowness on large files or a large amount of files (each one is its own transfer, and from experience, I feel that it would have gone faster on WiFi.)

l was browsing around on r/kde sometimes, and there was a banner-thing Saying that KDE Supported open platforms like Lemmy. I took a look at Lemmy’s Wikipedia, and browsed around a few days later. I liked the stuff on c/programmerhumour, So I joined.

Also my Reddit account got banned (i think, might be deactivated, idk) due to inactivity (I wasn’t on for 2-3 years), and I didn’t care to do anything about it.

Also, as a bit of context for the above, it did take a while from hearing about Lemmy and browsing and joining.
