I’d say anything that is relatively common and could potentially be dangerous if not maintained properly. You don’t need them to be masters of every appliance. Just to be aware of the dangers of the most common ones.

Hey, theyre clearly made for eachother. Good for them tbh.
I genuinely think that you should take a class in highschool that teaches basic life skills like this. 1 class each year. It could cover cooking/nutrition, mental health, chores, financial literacy, First aid basics, etc. Then by the time thye graduate they have had 4 years of teaching about basic stuff like that. I bet it would save tons of lives.

1·3 days agoWell I think there could also be a place for like niche curators. Like a blog that goes and finds all the strategy games that are actually good and posts reviews of them. If your a fan of that type of game you follow them, they try all the shitty ones so you don’t have to, and point you to the good ones. Same with other niche things.

Well I do have a blur thing on here. I edited Noctalia to remove the rounded corners. I like them sharp for this theme. It fits the fallout vibe more imo. Will have to try Umbriel out at some point but I’m pretty happy with the result I got from this theme for now.
does it have an overview?

44·3 days agoI think we’re reaching a point where there is going to be so much stuff around be it games, tv, movies, music, etc all made by AI and all just garbage, that it will make curating a huge deal. Like we’ll need to have services whose sole purpose is to sift through the marketplaces and find quality stuff to then present to people. So you’ll have a two tiered system where on one hand you can browse “everything” and it’s just a deluge of stuff and then on the other hand you can go to a curated marketplace that only lists stuff that is known to be high quality. But it’s going to take time for those curated places to pop up, and in the mean time we are gonna be swimming in slop.
Well niri is actually perfect for me because I am a gesture user. All my navigation is done with mousepad gestures.
Oh god. That’s atrocious lol.

1·5 days agoI’m glad you like them! I want to do the Legion, maybe a Ranger themed one, Gomorrah, Great Khans, Followers, etc eventually too. I just need to find good background images and nice central logo images to use. It can be tough to find good ones. I did a lot of converting with imagemagick for the ones already in there lol.

I think your arguement is kind of silly. Kid’s schedules are bloated? With what though? Is it actually valuable? Maybe if they’re bloated we should… get rid of the bloat and add in things that would actually help them.
Also, you aren’t teaching them what will be useful in a home in 30 years. You are teaching them what will be useful NOW. When they go to college, or get an apartment in a few years. If we didn’t teach people things that changed we wouldn’t teach SCIENCE! But we do. Because when you have a baseline and things change you can update what you know over time.
On top of that, your argument is self defeating. You are similtaneously saying kids are too busy for a class on this stuff but also saying they should just teach it to themselves in their free time. If they’re so busy when do you expect them to do that? The entire point of a class is so that we can MAKE TIME for them to learn this stuff.
