Its definitely gotten better over the years, especially since ive dropped a lot of friends that reacted like that. I don’t usually get much more than a raised eyebrow anymore over a few more common ingredients.

If the texture/flavor triggers my gag reflex and I can’t physically swallow, the question is not “why am I limiting myself?” but rather, “why would I attempt to abuse myself?”

Trying new food can be risky, its not cheap and if you cant eat it you just wasted your money and the food. Food also takes time to prepare which you may not have the time to make or order something else which then can snowball into larger issues. Not to mention the social pressure/judgment to finish a meal you wish you could force down your throat and getting accused of being dramatic and wasteful.

I like to try new foods here and there but I need to be able to get a small portion to avoid waste and know theres a back up I can eat to avoid skipping a meal altogether. It also needs to be with a crowd that I feel safe enough with not to get shat on if I cant eat it.

That being said I can only imagine making a blanket statement that I’d never try something if I already know it’s very similar to something else that I can’t eat.

They had an update earlier this year that really closed the gap on a lot of features and tools they were missing compared to other more established cad packages.

My smart watch recently died and I found myself quickly glancing at my bare wrist then surveying my surroundings for a clock only to check my phone as a last resort. Before my smart watch, my phone was my default but I’d still see clocks, read them… and then check my phone immediately after.

Things like flyers, posters, communication boards etc, have completely blended into the scenery for me for as long as I can remember. Unless the active task is waiting with little to no distractions or entertainment I won’t notice them.

I had gotten a 1 gal refillable mini keg filled from a local distributor and went back the next week for another so I’d say it was worth it.

That’s correct. Creality jumped in the game after and took advantage of a lot of the work prusa and the open source community did to make printers much more affordable with the ender series. That drew a lot more people into the community like myself, but nowadays I’d say steer clear of them for a number of reasons.

Bonus history, Naomi Wu is/was a huge maker from China who was able to push development on the cr-30 print mill. The print mill is almost literally just a small tread mill with the gantry on an angle that “shines” in batch printing and theoretically infinitely long parts. From my experience though its even finickier than an old ender and poses some additional design considerations. I think it’s super cool conceptually though and very satisfying to get successful parts off of, but could really only recommend to enthusiasts with lots of time and disposable income.

Unless you have lots of technical skills and patience i wouldn’t recommend it especially not for a first printer… but something worth considering down the road for the open source aspect would be a voron.

The Voron team has designed a few different printer variations and released the bill of materials and software documentation for you to source all the parts needed to build a printer from the ground up. Companies on Ali express sell kits to make it a little easier and cheaper but again, you are building it from the ground up.

If that sounds interesting I would still highly recommend starting with something a little cheaper like the elegoo CC (1 or 2) to get used to printing and see how much you like it.
