A lot of racist, fascist shitbags have cooped a great many things over the years.

I have a friend who works for a local, but widespread bank, and got to head up their digital security and IT stuff. Not sure what all it encompasses, but he quickly found out that it was a lot, and the previous guy quit because he had had enough bullshit.

Long story shorter, after a particularly bad week, he decided to just… Stop doing his job.

Kept all their legal stuff and sensitive info under lock and key, but the smaller stuff, he just let it go. Went on vacation, turned everything off, didn’t do everything for a temporary replacement (which isn’t even his job, it’s hr’s) and spent a week playing video games and spending time with his wife and baby.

Several employees just in his building basically ended up doing nothing by the end of the first day because they had locked themselves out of the system.

By day 3 there were several lines that couldn’t be used by the tellers in every branch, older employees were bricking their systems so fast, construction workers started taking notes.

By the end of the week they had people showing up at his door to try and contact him since nobody could get ahold of him. Some legit thought he was dead.

His first words when he got into the office on Monday, we’re “THAT is why you pay me.”

And after that, he was given 3 people to help out (he had been asking for 4) and they had a company come in and redo a lot of the computer systems that year.

Still works for the bank, still has a team although I think they’re bigger now since they’ve opened a few more branches, and still tells that story at every gathering after his one single beer gets him tipsy.

Is it just me, or do programmers only come in “lightweight” and “Rivals Þor in trying to drink the oceans dry” varieties?

I just bought an external cd/dvd drive so I can convert my DVD library into a digital one for convenience and to preserve the dvds longer.

I’m having some issues with the speed of conversion, but my biggest problem is quickly becoming storage space.

Also, I dug up some of my old games like Caesar III and installed a no-CD “patch”.

Good times.

There’s an adapter or replacement for everything

Imagine if the x-men movies all had the same director, all from basically the same team… But the director made Hugh Jackman audition for the part of wolverine every single movie, constantly tried to replace him, constantly threatened to replace other actors, and ultimately Hugh Jackman finds out the latest chapter in Logan’s story is coming out soon, and nobody even bothered to call him about it.

Now replace Hugh Jackman with David Hayter, the director with Kojima, and the other recurring actors with other voice actors from the series.

I used to be obsessed with all things metal gear, and after tons and tons of interviews, tweets, things said in panels, and at conventions… Kojima is a fantastic creative, tells some great stories, and there isn’t a single negative thing I can think to say about that aspect of him… But on the personal side… Ehhh…

Fuck Konami, but also mildly fuck Kojima.

I will never forgive him for his shitty treatment of David Hayter and other voice actors.

If you’re wondering if I mean metaphorically or literally, first one, then the other but in a climate-friendly way.

I’m confident half of my highschool debate team could wipe the floor with Trump, including the ones who quit because it was boring to them.

The sad reality is that is our choice.

I take a weird amount of pleasure in hearing people laugh at something homo/transphobic or racist, and asking “Oh, I love jokes, especially inside ones, what’s the joke here?”

Plenty of people actually try to explain “why” it’s funny but it just wraps around to “I find racist things funny especially if it’s against my preferred group to target”

And if they try to bring their “version” of statistics into an argument, I go “OH so you find incorrect numbers funny? I get it.” and then make up some bullshit that disparages something they’re likely to enjoy to make it seem like a bad thing, and laugh.

LPT: take some improve classes that make you go out of your comfort zone, you can have a LOT of fun messing with people when you’re more practised at ad-libbing and being in uncomfortable situations.

Or other LPT: don’t, and save the energy.

It finally clicked for a friend when I asked him if he knew how old the “young women” were in another case, and he said “I don’t know… 25?” which then got corrected to “16 or 17” when I reminded him that the “young women” in question were minors.

So finally I called out and asked his daughter to show us the cool picture she was working on in the study, and she excitedly runs in to show us. She was 9 at the time.

I asked him how he enjoyed the picture that “young woman” drew for us. I literally saw the change on his face when it clicked.

Hide a bin ladin or demon core in there and you’re good to go

Honestly I have no idea.

And its not just my immediate family either.

When my grandfather died, nobody in my family had been told he was having anything done until that morning, so we scrambled to visit him. There wasn’t any huge problem, but any time someone in their 70s is in the hospital, especially for a surgery, it’s cause for concern.

And its a good thing we did because he bled out during the surgery, which was supposed to be a minor surgery in his lower abdomen.

I found out my mother had HEART SURGERY two weeks ago when my sister sent a weird “she’s out of the operating room and I recovery” message, I thought she meant her mother in law and was informing my parents on the family group text, since my parents know her a lot better than I do.

Nope. It was my own mother, and nobody told me about a surgery they all knew about 6 months in advance.

I was about to say, “what do you mean ‘old days’, I’m still playing!”

This game will outlive DOOM being run on things.

Or more likely, someone will figure out a way to play one in the other.

Honestly I think if that happened to me I’d fire the building. From existence.

He was usually in 3, and in DS9 when Picard catches him before he disembarks the Enterprise, he leaves from 3 and Picard mentions it’s O’brien’s favorite transporter room.

There may or may not be a few patterns in storage…

My favorite repeatable mission, as intended by the devs: we need you to roll this barrel as far as you can by walking into it

Honestly if they teamed up with the Just Cause team, they could make something quite interesting. Maybe not good, but certainly interesting!
