That area looks like a hellscape:

the bridge is 5.5 mi (8.85km) long, the very shortest commutes between destinations on the two sides is about 7mi (11.25km), taking about 40mins each way.

Unless someone is riding at a very slow 16km/h pace, it would take far less than 40 minutes to ride that 11km (without an ebike).

On that note, if someone had the choice of sitting in traffic for an hour, or enjoying a beautiful 40 minute ride over a bridge, I think it would be an easy choice to make 🤗

That has the same vibe as, “I don’t hate black people. I just don’t think they deserve to drink from the same fountain, use the same bathroom, or eat in the same restaurant as me!”

Rather than advocate for the removal of someone else’s active, green form of transportation, he should be advocating for car pooling, better public transportation, WFH to lessen the burden of commuter traffic, and smaller vehicles.

For sure, and that still happens, but there are considerably more “cars” crashing into buildings than commercial vehicles. And nearly anyone, qualified or not, can drive a car without many barriers to entry.

These numbers are high, but just imagine if cycling infrastructure was a priority, rather than an afterthought that needs to be fought for every single day. I have no doubt that cyclists would outnumber drivers pretty much any time, and maybe that’s why drivers are getting increasingly more hostile.

I was shocked when my new realme, which uses the same tech, didn’t even break 30°C while charging at 8+ Amps (should be around 80W). This was in a relatively warm room (25°C) and using the case that came with it

That’s impressive. I’m looking at my phone now, not charging, but the screen is on, and it’s at 33C. LOL

AccuBattery needs a session to have 60% charged, so <20% to 80% works. Doesn’t need to be every single one.

It’s rare for me to get that low, even while charging to 80%. 😵

But yeah, every so often I’ll let it drain, then do a 100% charge to see what’s up. I don’t like doing that, because even Accubattery says that takes up more of a charge cycle than charging conservatively.

I do like the trend chart, although, the battery health on that actually went UP 5% between March and May 😱

As demonstrated in Montreal, Toronto, Paris (France), Netherlands (pick any city), Berlin, San Francisco, and every other place that takes transportation seriously, you have to degrow car-centric infrastructure to build people moving infrastructure, including bike lanes.

The growing urban population needs to find more sustainable ways to get around, because you can never satisfy car-centric infrastructure. “One more lane, bro” isn’t an actual solution to anything.
