Trying a new drying method, “lotus cure”. You dry it in a fridge.

Cascade hops on my end, one of my favs. Am gonna try my hand at brewing. Have a buddy whose done it multiple times.
OP, I think they’re taking the piss for being American and having an imperial tape instead of metric.
I’ve got the best f both worlds on mine. Metric on one side and imperial on the other. Canadian and having US materials is interesting sometimes.
SchmidtGenetics@lemmy.worldto Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•This local house has rocks on the roof instead of shingles5·20 days agoFrom one to next they look really similar.
2:12 is low slope iirc. So 3:12 can use shingles, but not 2:12.
You’re right though, could just be a look choice on a higher slope. Could be a “trial” roof or something who knows.

SchmidtGenetics@lemmy.worldto Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•This local house has rocks on the roof instead of shingles8·21 days agoOn metal roofs they actually add grips so the snow can’t slide right off.
A sheet of snow isn’t light, you DO NOT want that sliding off and hitting you, but it’ll also fuck your eavestrough up.
SchmidtGenetics@lemmy.worldto Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•This local house has rocks on the roof instead of shingles11·21 days agoLow slope, so considered flat for most codes, can’t use shingles. Basically every commercial roof has rocks, but In the last decade they’ve shifted to a vinyl. Lighter, handles more snow load.

Some communities are totally fine to grow peppers and gourds/squashes.
Natures fucking weird.

Iirc under 10c peppers stall and under 5c tomatoes stall. So without assistance some stuff is just right out.
A greenhouse is on my list of crap to do.

I say that lovingly from someone’s whose climate doesn’t allow peppers very well.
My first tomatoes are finally coming in, and the my other plants are just taking off… growing is always an adventure.
lol it’s the asshole owners. Pits with good owners have no issues, it’s why it’s not 100% of pits.
These spray food safe dyes, wouldn’t affect t the flavor unless you’re overly sensitive.
