We definitely disagree.
We definitely disagree.
I think there’s a difference between being prejudice towards an outside group and not wanting your own culture replaced.
There is nothing inherently wrong with countries and their cultures not wanting to have others integrate. In the past this is what helped them survive.
It’s only a big issue in countries like the US that want to be a mixing bowl/melting pot and also are being xenophobic.
Depends on the terms. The better 0% fee deals only charge you interest on the remaining balance if not paid in full. Pays to read all of the terms before signing up.
I, too, am sick of headlines being lies to gain eyeballs. It’s damaging to society. Ugh.
That’s 20 hours of driving at 65mph.
Year, year and half, sometimes 2. Just depends on the pieces that are involved and how long it’ll take to get them all to line up. Family/friends are invited on some vacations, sometimes it’s just us and we have to book it out as far as possible due to demand. We rarely do anything spontaneous. Wife is a major planner.
Currently we have: July 4th weekend at a campground with church friends September 2024 in state at a mountain cabin for wife’s bday. March 2025 in planning for an Alaskan vacation to visit family and see the Iditarod September 2025 in planning for a family beach vacation.
If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present.

For some of us it’s an incredibly calming force. I could sit on the beach all day just watching and listening to the waves, watching the birds, crabs, etc. and get lost in thought. Nothing is more peaceful for me.
My wife doesn’t agree. She find the mountains and camping peaceful.
To each their own.
Branch manager at a 3 trade business (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical). Very much enjoy beating the competition and taking all of their great talent because they can’t treat them well. It’s not hard to actually give a damn about your people. Turns out, if you do that they like working for you and end up performing even more.

I live in an at will employment state and have been a manager for quite some time. I’ve never seen an employee actually terminated for their protected status race, religion, etc. It’s always been because they had poor performance and/or attendance issues and didn’t want to get better. If you aren’t a solid average then it’s develop up or out. This isn’t my POV, this is the reality of the performance conversations I’ve been involved with. Personal accountability is a major problem these days. If you have none then you won’t have a job for long. The good news is that if you’re solid in those areas then you will be valuable to your employer. This is why so many military applicants get picked up. They have a basis for attendance and completing the mission.
Having said that, I’m sure you’re correct and discrimination does happen because their employer lied. I just think that it doesn’t happen quite as often as believed. Many poor performers I’ve known have outright lied about why they were actually terminated.
Saw the headline and thought, “this is what the US has to look forward to this year.” We love to one-up everyone else. Oh god.
Everyone I know who travels for business already is. Any do much about what plane you fly in though.
I depends on how the survey is done. If it’s an outside company you basically get zero comments. I had to run the survey results and Gameplan for 200 employees yearly. I had zero idea, let alone time, to figure out who might have given us bad scores. It was a lot of graphs on what people felt we could improve or what we excelled at, so KPIs. Big surprise that compensation and communication were the two that needed the most work. It almost always is in different industries I’ve been in. It was truly anonymous on the level I was at (knowing the employees).
As a salaried manager that’s a dream. What’s a break!?
Ha. We have a call center quality issue at work. I keep telling them that what they really have is a pay issue. You get low talent for low pay. Raise the pay and the talent magically appears. Works every time. And yet …
Hell yeah pig lips and assholes! I know exactly what I’m eating and it’s delicious. Waste not, want not!
Although, after having an impossible burger, which was surprisingly good, I’d try an impossible dog or brat for sure. Can’t hurt the cholesterol levels I’d imagine.
That’s a weak argument. Just because I bring up another point of view doesn’t mean I subscribe to the view mentioned, which I don’t.
If a country doesn’t want to allow immigration then that’s perfectly moral. It may eventually kill their culture off in the long run but it’s not xenophobic by definition.
If a country does allow immigration and then is prejudice towards a group coming in then absolutely that’s xenophobic.
