Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Is this the life now? Jumping to alternatives every few months because every open source project is adhering to AI?
2·13 hours agoI think it’s great to highlight the true ones who are refusing AI usage so we can focus on them.
I was never interested in Clojure but now knowing they refuse AI, I kind of have interest on learning it now.

5·1 day agoI’ve watched a few series with AI generated subtitles once and it’s real dog shit. They miss some obvious words that completely breaks the immersion of what I’m watching.
On top of that, they’re selling this feature as something good, instead of incentivating real subtitle writers that do a pretty solid work.
You’ll see more AI slop and less good work from real people.

2·1 day agoIt seems pretty nice.
I got an error tho, due to my Pi-Hole No Google block list, it seems it’s saying to me to whitelist “identitytoolkit.googleapis.com” for sign up process, and I don’t see any reason for contacting Google servers for registration.

2·2 days agoWow that’s a good one, I had seen it before but now that you said I realized I can use it even for other things.
I just set up Kagi Translate so I can translate things to my language.
I add: “https://translate.kagi.com/?from=en_us&to=pt_br&text=%25s” with keyword “@trans-en”.
(it’s showing %25s idk why, it should be %s)Then I type “@trans-en [word in english]” and it redirects me to Kagi, translating it.

4·2 days agoYou forget one thing, it’s not fair with the ones who stand against it.
There are plenty and good projects who stand against AI, is it fair with those who are trying to do the correct thing?
I don’t think so.

31·2 days agoSorry to be that idealist, but open-source used to mean something, not just the word. It used to be a symbol, people who stand for something. But now? It feels dirty. I don’t care if AI will do an excellent job, it still [insert all dozens of issues behind AI use here that I’m tired of repeating].
