  • I live in a major city in America so sadly see them daily… I’d say around 70% have a custom vinyl wrap or are painted instead of being left stainless steel tho.

One store near my work is a retro games shop, they bought one and wrapped it in their colors/logo and I think it’s funny since my wife often says the truck looks like Laura Croft’s tits

  • The Amtrak station in St. Louis is not a great spot to leave anything of value. I live in St. Louis so I’m not one of these crazies that thinks my city is a war zone but that lot gets plenty of attention from thieves breaking windows looking for guns and money.

And SoIL folks don’t go to Chicago, remember there is a substantial number of Illinoisans calling for everything south of Springfield to be split into the 51st state. No it wouldn’t be sustainable or make sense but they hate being “controlled” by cook county

  • Walk in the Vatican City or il duomo in Italy, or St. Paul’s, St. George’s, or Westminster in England, or la sagrada familia in Barcelona… or a large number of other mega churches. Once inside you’ll see they’re comparable to modern mega churches but made ENTIRELY OF MARBLE instead of cheap ass sticks and drywall like American buildings. If you’ve ever been sitting in the pews of il duomo you’ll know you’re truly in a mega church, and once you’re done with service, there like 6 saints entombed a hundred yards from the pulpit, still inside mind you and nowhere close to any of the entrances

  • The duomo took 600 years to be mostly complete and still has work being done though mostly restoration and maintenance. It has a marble quarry dedicated solely to it. Absolutely magnificent building, I did all the tours a few months ago, loved it.

That is why we don’t build buildings like it anymore, insanely expensive and time consuming. Plus our current rich people would rather rape kids on their massive yachts and private island than commission beauty to be admired by wider society like the wealthy of old.

Yea they were an affordable option for like 2 years then became a novelty that trust fund kids use for a few years before settling into mansions.

My mom bought some land (.5 acre)and built a tiny home on it, cost over $100k altogether still for a 700sqft 1b/1bth with a loft that can have a sleeping bag if needed but is really storage. Works for her needs and is half the cost of any of the homes in her town that are all falling down but still 200k for some reason…
