Sortof wrong. It’s a relic of the past, and the order maintains traditions. In practice nobody cares about your religion in the modern world, including in Freemasonry. I said, “We interview people who’ve applied to join the order to make sure they’re suitable” and when we’re doing that we are obliged by the rules to say, “Do you believe in god yes or no” but the scrutineers say it with a bored look like something they have to say.
