Very old-fashioned and now quite offensive umbrella term for transgender individuals and crossdressers. Because conservatives are too dumb to tell the difference between those groups they tend to use this term for both.

I hate the “those extremists are not REAL members of my religion” rhetoric. We shouldn’t forget that christianity also tells us to stone gay men to death, that slavery is good if the victims are from other nations, and that women should subject themselves to their husbands. The European slavers of the past were some of the most horrible people in history, and they were very christian too as they followed these rules to a tee. They did break the laws about respecting your fellow man, sure, but the inverse can be said of the christians who are decent people. They adhere the love thy neighbour rules, but break the rules that say that they should stone gay men. This means that the decent christians are much better people, but not necessarily more or less christian than the slavers of the past.
So if you are a christian and you feel bad by this association, I suggest that, instead of defending your relegion, you re-evaluate it.
Seconding Fedora KDE. But if you’re not a fan, you could also opt for many of the other supported desktops (cinnamon, XFCE, etc.)
I think it’s more so because it took a long time to figure out the basics, and now we have them to build further upon. Take cars, for example. Can you think of any revolutionary cars from recent years? The first ever cars were revolutionary. The Ford model T was revolutionary because of its assembly and availability to the masses. The first few hybrids and EVs could also be seen as such. But other than that? Nah.
Perhaps a car enthusiast would like to correct me, that’s fine. I admit I know very little when it comes to cars. But this is my perception at least.

Nazis don’t have brains, that’s why

No problem fam, we all mess up from time to time!
I think you misinterpret the tweet then. Such childish behaviour as “We hAvE aIrCraft CarrIEr nUhUh” doesn’t exactly say “we don’t care.” It just screams “I am a sore loser.” I absolutely agree with the rest of your statement, though. It is wild to me how many people care about a bunch of millionaires running after a ball. Or running circles. Or driving cars. Or hitting balls across a net. Or throwing a ball. Etc. It is absolutely fine to enjoy doing those things, but the whole show and dance around it is just ridiculous.
Eh fair enough. That is also a possibility.
It makes sense that a regular chatGPT user is unfamilliar with the concept of “thinking”

It’s on the list!

Altered Carbon season 1. The worldbuilding and story is very good. Premise: People have managed to create chips on which you can put someone’s consciousness. In this world, everyone has one. Once a body dies, your life is not necessarily over, but the standards differ vastly for the poor and the rich. One such rich man has had an attempt on his life: someone shot him in his chip, and then tried to hack his backup to truly kill him, but failed. He awakens an old rebel to solve who murdered him (this is all episode 1 exposition, so not really a spoiler).
It’s one of those sci-fi series where, if you accept that one specific thing is possible, everything fits perfectly. Good story, great worldbuilding, good cast, and good music. Highly recommended!
I’m not sure if there’s any more of it being made now, but I remember season 2 being just a run of the mill boring-ass action series. Turned it off halfway episode 3. But season 1 is very good, and absolutelt worthy of the praise that it got!
I am not drinking any of that shit. It is unethical, what those people do. It is a grotesque violation against human rights that this exists. And none of you should be drinking anything that comes from Nestlé either!

Once again a great example of why religion does not belong in the 21st century. No matter how tolerant and progressive they claim or pretend to be, there will always be something that shows they just want to adhere to their medieval rules.

Great example of; just because it was a technical masterpiece, that doesn’t make a movie good. The special effects were outstanding for the time, and still hold up very well. That is something I will always praise it for, but it is the only thing worth praising about it. It really is a very polished turd, in that sense.

Same energy as the time iphone added dual-sim support after android having that for years

It is so incredibly kind, all the marketing that companies like EA are doing for indie titles completely free of charge!

For me, the movie is a prime example that, just because something is a classic, that doesn’t mean it is universally enjoyable. It left me with an overwhelming sense of “what did I just watch?” And not in a good way
Same. I’m grateful our national team got knocked out pretty quickly. I was not looking forward to all the partying and noise in the streets if they’d won. Now I can just get on with my day without all the hassle :)
