I like the way it’s implemented in Rimworld especially with the bugs. Many animals will retaliate when you try to tame them. Bugs will just incessantly attack you right away but you can still tame them if your pawn has sufficient skills and can doge and tank enough hits.
Mmmm, me too. I love the Rimworld taming system. (Did you know, if you can down a revenging animal without killing it, you can tend to its wounds, it might magically bond with the doctor and self tame, and failing that, now the animal is trapped in your animal hospital or your barn and you can try again?) You can make anything your pet, assuming you have someone with the skills and you get good luck. I frequently tame bears just because I think Rimworld bears are adorable, not necessarily because they’re useful. (Have you seen the Animal Cuddling mod? It can be adjusted so your pawns will hug, and be approached for hugs by, literally anything in your menagerie of pets, but by default it already lets you hug a lot of odd critters because it’s based on relative body size. It’s adorable.)

I think they nerfed the taming by healing at some point because I remember it being incredibly effective with larger animals, and you’d get a thrumbo on the first try almost every time.
I love that they added so many more animals with Odyssey, love just having a swarm of crows.

Admittedly I certainly have not played Stardew since it’s not really my type of game but I think if you’re going for cozy life sim fishing is fine since cozy life sim with not that much going on is the entire gameplay loop anyways, I can make peace with fish gamers, however I do think Stardew valley should be renamed to fishing valley,
i remember liking it a little, but ultimately resorted to mining cause you can slash monsters and stuff. like fishing and mining were still my most done activities in my old playthrough

No it wasn’t don’t lie to me, all 4 of these games were conceptualized before we fishing shut down and 3 out of 4 were released before then, this would have happened whether the bastion of fishing that is webfishing remained or not because nothing is ever enough for you people, all you want to do is expand your influence more and more and the only way to stop you is to cut out fishing from the industry entirely

A fish ate my wife and kids. I fish every day in my quest for revenge, hoping to catch to one who did it. Alas, I see no end in sight and have eaten 1362 fish since that tragic day. Sometimes I ask myself: would my family want this? Would they want to see me perpetuating this cycle of violence?
But then I remember: It doesn’t matter what they want. At the end of the day, they’re dead and nothing will bring them back.
So I continue the grind. Fishing. Cooking. Consuming.
