  • Still working through DS3 with my partner. Just beat the watchdogs. Double dipping some monster hunter with Wilds on PC and FU on the PSP.

B42 dropped so my friends have been trying to find a time to boid it up but peoples family members keep having medical emergencies (including me) so we’ve been pushing that back.

Also playing some guild wars reforged. I played the shit out of it as a dumb kid who never got through a story so I’m trying to rectify that. Just about done with pre-searing ascalon so I’ll probably trigger the apocalypse in the next couple play sessions.

My partner really wants to play Grand Blue Relink with me but 1. I’m not buying any new games right now I got enough to play and if I don’t wanna do that I have emulation and 2. it seems like FFXIV with button mashing and preset characters (I’m sure that’s reductive that’s just my impression). Watching him play it was giving me a headache just from the noises.

  • software moreso. With the release of the steam frame (the vr headset) valve will be using an ARM version of proton. Android devices use ARM architecture so it probably won’t be long until we get steam os CFW for various android handhelds and probably some phones.

You can already play PC games on android through things like gamehub and winulator but the optimization is middling. On my retroid flip 2 I can play most 2/2.5D games with minimal issues and I’ve gotten games like Fallout 3 and Dark Souls 2 to run but I wouldn’t call them playable. In fact, I’ve found that the same games that aren’t playable through windows emulation are incredibly playable through switch emulation so I would definitely lean towards calling it a software issue.

Hopefully proton for ARM will be a similar jump in performance as proton already was for linux gaming compared to things like wine.

  • Finally set up my PC and got the internet wired to the upstairs at my new place. It’s only slightly janky (column of wires going from ceiling to floor in a corner near the basement stairs) but I got it working.

Started a DS3 seamless play through with my partner (first time playing through the game for both of us) and so far it’s cool! I’ve never done seamless souls before it’s definitely a little cheap, mainly how enemies don’t respawn on death, but we’re having fun with it.

My friends got really into dragon wilds the last couple weeks so I tried it out. It’s neat enough but it’s clearly going to be a major grind to catch up to everyone.

Also, @[email protected] I’m ready to get into ffxi!
