The situation is particularly dire as we head towards the second half of Trump’s second term. We’ve seen two years of the Trump administration bypassing Congress and legal precedent to push anti-trans lawfare: the Department of Justice (DOJ) has been working to obtain trans youth medical records in a campaign of fear aimed at ending gender-affirming care; the Education Department has been attacking school districts that have pro-trans policies on the books; and a twisted reading of Title IX is being used to try to deny trans children inclusion in school sports.
Very fucking frustrating to see the only party that cares at all about human rights putting them down yet again. Although all the progress I’ve seen in my adult life has come from Democrats, so there is that.
So fucking tired of fascism and Christian nationalism. I haven’t been personally impacted on this front, but I sure as fuck have on other fronts. But it just feels like we lose battle after battle. Although the root fucking cause is the oligarchs wanting number go up. Wealth inequality is the start, with wedge issues just serving as ways to help the fascists win and make more number go up for the oligarchs. All these human lives lost and made worse are just chattel they care nothing for.
