I don’t intentionally. I have severe ADHD and I’ve never noticed any effects no matter how little or how much I consume.

As a nation, I dislike us immensely as well. :|

So what did we accomplish?

…What did we go in to accomplish, for that matter?

I’m not talking about distractions, that’s fine to discuss, but as far as I’m aware, I’ve not heard any justification for why we went in and that we’ve reached any objectives.

Sweet. I’ve been a tiny enthusiast of Markdown for almost 20 years. It’s just a great format.

I host a forum for a gaming community and it uses BBcode, which was… not completely terrible for the time, but ever since I used markdown, I’ve always hated it. heh. Markdown is just simple and easy to remember, and it’s easy to use. It quickly becomes second nature.

Well, that was a nice attempt to be cute, but it ignores realty. People being bombed probably don’t have a vote. And if they do, they should vote for Democrats who are by far the less warmongering party.

As with domestic issues, the implication is not that the Dems are perfect. Far from it. But they are generally reasonable, especially when contrasted with the fascists who most certainly are not.

Saying things like “you are living a peaceful life far away from US bombs.” in an attempt to invalidate my statement doesn’t help your case, nor does it change the reality that blue is better - or at least, less bad.

It’s absolutely not impossible.

It’s irresponsible and stupid, but it’s absolutely not impossible. People and systems can be smart, but often they are very very dumb.

That said, I wouldn’t be shocked if nobody could be bothered to remove it from a target list under the idea of claiming it was an accident or something.

But do I think it’s impossible the people putting it on the target list didn’t know? Not at all. (But do I think it was likely there wasn’t someone who knew? Also yes)

Came here to say basically this. I read that it used to be on the compound, but that it was separated out by a wall and made into a school some time ago - long enough that it means (if it’s true) we were using very outdated data, but you can apparently see on Google maps that it used to be part of the compound but now is outside the compound.

So a charitable interpretation is that we used outdated information to bomb what we thought was a military building. And of course there are less charitable interpretations.

I think the knowledge is more widespread on lemmy than imgur, but worth remembering: If he doesn’t sign legislation within 10 days, as long as Congress is in session, it will automatically go into effect. So the Senate doesn’t even have to shut down, they can keep on passing legislation, as long as they’re in session.

Was that the issue with the format? I always hated how it was a crapshoot on whether I could use any particular tiff in any particular app for no apparent reason. heh
