(Im making a joke out of it here, but to be clear I have no reason to think he made up the death threat, and I dont think those sort of messages are acceptable. The seemingly bad German can just be explained away by gerard thinking because kde is a project with a lot of ties to Germany everyone who is active in it understands German).

According to Nathan, they told him behind closed doors that they withdrew support to Omarchy.
@bignose @e8d79 All I can find is that Omarchy is neither on the list of recommended distributions nor on the list of sponsorships. Hyprland is still listed as sponsored at 7200€ per year though the list hasn’t been updated for a couple of months.
It would be really nice to get an official statement from @frameworkcomputer on this. Their products are excellent and we have multiple FW13 in this household but the way they have been handling this leaves a really bad taste.

@bignose I may be wrong, but I believe that the only direct link between Framework and DHH was them mentioning Omarchy on their social feeds and they stopped doing that.

Omarchy is still listed on https://frame.work/linux as one of the “distributions” that they give free hardware to, and Nirav’s statement that they “don’t partner based on individuals’ or organizations’ beliefs, values, or political stances outside of their alignment with us on increasing the adoption of open source software” is still available at https://community.frame.work/t/framework-supporting-far-right-racists/75986
You’ll also note that Hyprland is on the list of officially sponsored projects, and while I was willing to give that community the benefit of the doubt for a bit, Vaxry was a speaker at Omacon and sponsored by Omacom, proving that I was wrong to do so.
