What we found
Our results showed that among identical twins, if one was trans, the likelihood that the other was also trans was 21.2%.
For non-identical twins, this rate was significantly lower, at 8.7% – though this was still well above the 1–2% prevalence of trans identities in the general population.
Non-twin siblings weren’t included in our research, but we’d expect their rate would be similar to that seen among non-identical twins.
If being trans were purely a social phenomenon, we would not see this step-wise difference where the chance of being trans goes up with increasing genetic similarity.
Our data thus provide strong evidence that genes are involved.
We defy biology literally everywhere. How is correcting your vision non “defying biology?” Weight loss drugs? Shit, literally any medicine at all?
I mean, if these ancient fucks want to claim we shouldn’t defy biology, we should take away their hearing aids, reading glasses, and heart meds.
Biology: Sex is a spectrum
People pretending to care a lot about Biology: NU-UHHIt’s not even a spectrum anymore, it’s a matrix.
(technically a multidimensional continuous field not a matrix)
I love how they tried naming the specific dimension axes, like ‘chromosome’ is quite the limited discrete spectrum lmao
Excuse my ignorance, but then what is a matrix?
Essentially a 2D square of values. They are a generalization that allows you to work a bunch if math at once
E.g.,
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9There are special operations that allow for operations with other matrices, values, etc.
Matrix math is essentially what you’re graphics card does. A matrix holds various transformations of shapes (scaling, rotating, shearing, etc.).
You sure there aren’t such things as multi dimensional matrices?
There’s also vectors. Scalars. Tensors.
But the truth is, this is a basic mathematical concept. Not so basic that most people would have access to it, but pretty basic otherwise.
If the user doesn’t have knowledge of a basic concept, getting lost in the weeds is not going to be terribly useful to them. I’m a professor. I answer questions based on the way they’re posed to me.
So, yes, I’m aware. But in this case, I was trying to actually be helpful.
Me too:
multidimensional continuous field
three big words
Matrix
one word, implied multiple variables, maybe even dimensions.
I’m a professor. I answer questions based on the way they’re posed to me.

I prefer to defy the laws of physics instead :3
