Why would they refund the money? They know that their customers are so addicted that they will continue buying. Same with not owning digital games; the buyers will keep on buying. Complaining, yes, but buying none the less.
These tariffs are such a great way to filter more tax money to the rich.
Of course it is! You’d be hard pressed to find a Trump policy that isn’t designed specifically to enrich some obscenely wealthy person or another.
They can also hide price increases in there. During times of inflation and shortages, companies make record profits.
The public had to pay the illegal tariffs themselves and then had to pay again to bail the corporations out from them!
Then I’m not obligated to pay for games for a while.
Another visitor! Pirate a while. Pirate forever!
There are decades of great games I’ve never played and the steamdeck is more than capable of most that I want to play. I’m satisfied to wait it out.
But then the potential viruses. How would someone go about locking down their ship?
Edit: I guess a separate hard drive would do.
if you only use reputable crackers/repackers youre not likely to get a virus. fitgirl is my go to. she has so many games the only times she hasnt had a game its been a very niche indie title, and buying those supports real developers not scummy ceos and investors. ive been torrenting games for decades at this point and the only times ive gotten a virus is downloading a new release from some rando.
But any file could say “FitGirl” and its not like some person or organization will vouch for them due to fear of being caught?
no she has a website you can go get the torrent from the source. yeah there are fakers but do some due diligence and youll be fine.
It is important for anyone reading this to realize two things:
- If you haven’t torrented or similar since 2010, it’s different than you remember. Much more organized.
- most Fortune 500 companies are more predatory and invasive than most pirate sites anymore. It’s good to be on your guard, but by and large the the communities where you find stuff self regulate really well.
Just an FYI, viruses don’t care if they are on separate drives.
Virtual machines
It’s true. They aren’t obligated.
The refunds got issued, didn’t they? Why would that happen if they were intended for consumers?
Of course they are not obligated to. That’s not the issue here.
It would have been the morally right thing to do and these companies just show (once again) they do not follow any morals.
I’ve never bought anything from Nintendo or Microsoft, so saying I won’t in the future will be of no consequence, but at least Sony was on the table for me in regards to a new phone maybe.
WHY ARE THEY GETTING REFUNDS!?
its too complicated to give refunds unless its a big company. trump made a huge huge fucking mess
No no no. You missed my point. It’s idiotic to give the companies refunds. They literally lost nothing.
I have a Sony Bravia TV. The next TV won’t be Sony. I have Windows 10. The next operating system won’t be Microsoft. See what you’re doing Sony and Microsoft?
Why the hell do you still have windows at this point? The TV is hardware, I get that. But windows? Just change it.
Believe it or not there are things you simply cannot run on Linux.
If your serious about a switch people are willing to help! A lot of stuff can run with wine and there might even be better open source alternatives!
That’s what virtual machines are for…
We all know that when a new game comes out, people are going to bend right over and take it hard.
Principles and self respect is a thing of the past.
People planning on buying their games anyway have found this comment I see…
I got a tariff bill of 30$ for a fucking hockey trading card from Canada…good luck getting me to pay that shit
That’s great! Keep buying (pay a subscription) for all their overpriced stuff guys! 😃👍
