A Wisconsin woman accused of stabbing her classmate to please horror character Slender Man more than a decade ago asked a judge again Friday to release her from a psychiatric hospital.
Morgan Geyser, who is now 22 years old, filed a petition with Waukesha County Circuit Judge Michael Bohren seeking her release from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute. The petition marks the third time in the last two years she has asked Bohren to let her out of the facility.
She withdrew her first petition two months after filing it in 2022. Bohren denied her second request this past April, saying she remains a risk to the public.
No, I want to have patients assessed for release like the law requires and actually have the system do something more than abuse people.
Gonna need more that empty platitudes. Explain what you think is wrong here v which specific laws and processes are not being followed, who is responsible, and what is the remedy? Also why are you rooting for a confirmed attempted murderer? This really comes across as hero worship.
She was fucking 12 and not mentally able, shesbeen in jail for ten years, yeah lets check her out. I swear shes been in jail longer then others and you think thats juuuuust fine right.
I don’t think anything because I don’t know the details and neither do you.
You don’t know the details, but you’ll call anyone who argues against keeping this person involuntarily committed for the rest of their life an “apologist”.
Sounds like you just worship the U.S. “justice system”, and get off on seeing people ruined by it, regardless of what’s justified.
That’s the point dude.
And yet you and others keep on like you do know what’s going on, “dude”.
No dude i don’t. Again thats the point of her Being re-evaluated.

No, I want to understand without anyone getting emotional or making it personal precisely what they think the problem is. All I get from people is a vague reference to age and the passage of time.
The point of a system like this is to in theory rehabilitate people so that one day they can return to society.
The system is failing here to do that despite several professionals in their field saying she is capable of returning to the community.

It’s easy to vilify someone when you make up and attribute things to them that they didn’t say. Not sure how making this personal helps, but it sure does say something about you.
It’s easy to villify someone when they…
*Checks notes*
…want to imprison another person for life who has not been convicted of any crime.
So you see how it’s bad to put straw men in people’s mouth because of a situation they have nothing to do with.
She was found not guilty. Why do you want to punish the innocent?
She was found not guilty because she was twelve. Not because she didn’t attempt to murder that person.
Not guilty is not the same as innocent. She was not guilty due to insanity but she still committed the act.
