He was cleared of his initial probe of plagiarism though so he certainly wasn’t lying about everything. Small details to focus on sure whatever.

I see talks of this but when was the probe? The Cambridge investigation started on the 5th of August, he resigned the day after. I don’t think the investigation is finished.

Even in one of the smear articles from TheGuardian:

        https://www.theguardian.com/education/2026/aug/06/jason-arday-claim-memoir-publisher-simon-and-schuster-cambridge

Cambridge initially came to Arday’s defence, describing the claims as part of a “vile smear campaign to undermine his credibility”. It said it had passed complaints on to Liverpool John Moores University, where Arday had completed his PhD. LJMU cleared him of plagiarism, but academics said legitimate concerns remained.

I guess I’ll believe it when Cambridge finishes their investigation over most of his work I’m guessing and not just his thesis.

Sorry if I don’t give the benefit of the doubt to the guy that said he ran 600 miles in 6 days. It’s easy to see he wasn’t honest, kind of silly to assume he didn’t plagiarize.

The guy was clearly a liar, I’ll keep my pity for people that deserve it, at least while waiting to know if he did plagiarize half his work or not.
