Because the state hasn’t proven he is. The evidence we’ve seen so far seems pretty flimsy to me. Luigi’s defense team filed a complaint that showed extremely poor chain of custody of evidence, suggesting that certain evidence isn’t valid or might be a setup. The cops have been real weird about it, using the high profile of the case to self promote and make a spectacle of things in the media. I think there are reasons - aside from the presumption of innocence until guilt is proven - to think this guy isn’t just a murderer.
Imo he’s absolutely a murderer. I just happen to support his choice of victim and motivations. I kinda feel that in some circumstances murder is beneficial to society, and this is one very rare example of that. I hope they let him out and he does it again.

I always refer to the healthcare CEO (he doesn’t have a name, Luigi does) as a Corporate Serial Killer, which is exactly what he was.
