Small Prophets. The main character is me. I just got into it and I can’t figure out how to properly watch anything ever, so I absolutely do not recommend this ever
Lately I’ve been seeing whats on Archive.org, they’ve got Scanners and Big Trouble in Little China, which were cool.
Sugar - Season 2 started off slow, but found it’s stride around episode 4 and ended strong. Still not as good as season 1, but good enough to make me hope for a season 3.
Dark Matter - Decided to finally watch this after they announced a second season. First couple episodes were so-so, but once it got going it was really good. I’ll be interested to see the direction the show goes in the new season.

To be honest, season 3 was a good ending. They should not be stretching / milking this to death by doing a season 4.
But only 1 episode out yet, felt good. So let’s see how this goes.
I did not really like Episode 1 that much. It felt bought and paid for by the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, I didn’t like how they basically made the entire population of KC act like Ted, I hate Michelle as a character so I don’t want to see her in London with them, and I though there was nowhere near enough table-setting needed for the run-time. Also, that jet, a Bombardier Challenger as I understand it, would only have needed a stop or two, but it almost seems like it would have been worse than flying first-class commercial.
Did you get a chance to watch the second episode ?
Waiting for my wife to get back from a work trip, LOL. I’ll check in once we watch it. :-)
Honor aka Heder - finished season 2, I liked it better than season 1 because the first season had too much going on.
Captain Marleau aka Captaine Marleau - almost done with season 5, top tier season so far.I just watched the Core and recommend watching something else.
I’m watching season 3 of Silo and I find it pretty disapoint tbh.

At first when I heard that it’s gonna end in 4 seasons, I thought: great this can be wrapped up nicely. I’m several episodes in, and it doesn’t get better to the point, I’m about to drop it all together.
For recommendation, I haven’t any at the mo, but if I think of smth, I will add another comment.
With any luck the next episode will we wrap up the memory stuff… Maybe the next season will focus more on the pre-silo story?

Star City is off to a good start after how bad For All Mankind got after a great first season. No whiney aged up old guy is lovely.

This week I watched three docuseries, two were on the same subject.
This is a netflix docuseries on four college students at the University of Idaho who were stabbed to death in their off campus housing. It uses interviews with the family of two of the victims and extensive interviews with the Moscow Idaho Police Department. It also uses a lot of the police’s body cam footage. The interviews with the families are really heart breaking. Also equally heartbreaking is the interviews with the police as they had to investigate the crime and do all the notifications to the family members. The docuseries also uses interviews with town officials and lawyers involved in the case. It does a really good job of stitching the horrific events of that night together and the aftermath.
It is never made clear why the four students were murdered, but the docuseries clearly breaks down how they were murdered.
This docuseries, also about the murder of the four students is on Amazon. It was filmed while there was a gag order imposed so none of the police or lawyers participated and the bulk of the docuseries involved the families of the other two victims that did not participate in the netflix version. It also used interviews from reporters who covered the case.
To state the obivious the impact that these murders had on families of victims is without measure, but these murders also greatly impacted the entire university and the town as a whole. They all thought that they were safe from something like this. The whole place is not built to handle this.
Where the murders took place was basically the hub of many college students social lives. They would come and go out of the house all the time.
AHH it is August and the NFL approaches. So I have started watching this summer’s Hard Nocks. This year the focus is on The Seattle Seahawks and man Sam Darnold is a Disney feel good sports movie in real time. Coming out of high school he was the top QB prospect out of California and played college at USC, which is a football factory.
He is drafted third in the first round to a dogshit team, The Jets, where there is no way for him to succeed. He then spends about a decade bouncing around bad teams in the NFL and being undervalued. He then has incredible success in Minnnesota and amazingly those morons cut him. So the Seahawks sign him and then he wins the superbowl with them. Que the swelling motivational music and roll credits.
The only thing missing from this Disney tale is a dead dog or a cancer patient……
Finished lower decks, watched a few episodes of trailer park boys and thinking of restarting the expanse
Recommend: star trek voyager, lower decks, Garth Merenghi’s Dark place
Dark Place was so much fun! I tried Merenghi’s latest audiobook, but it just didn’t click for me. ☹️
Lower Decks is the best Star Trek since DS9, honestly.

1670 on Netflix. Comedy series based in 1670 Poland. It’s hilarious.
The English dubbing is excellent.
That is supposed to be good, but I’ve always been a bit cautious of non-english comedies on the basis that jokes to some extent are rooted in wordplay and require understanding the native language tropes (ie: a lot would be lost in subtitles).
Not an issue for me with this show. Though I’m not a subtitle user. I watch this show in a English dubbing, not subtitles.
It’s less about the subtitles (or dubbing) but more that the jokes won’t work when translated. Does that make sense?
You’d be surprised how universal a lot of comedy can be. I watch a lot of international shows and people by and large laugh at similar situations. In cases of language specific wordplay, usually the translator tries to find an English equivalent.

First season only. At first I was meh, esp. the obviously “humoristic” product placement (Ford iirc) pissed me off - but it happened only once or twice, after a few episodes it was gone.
But the longer I watched the more I realized that this is a rare instance of clever and truly American humor. No wonder it comes in the form of a cop show, and a lot of the fun is in the production, in playing with TV tropes etc.
I’d love to watch on but have diffiulty getting my hands on further seasons … 🏴☠️
