“On ARM” sadly doesn’t mean a pie in the sky fantasy where Demon’s Souls can be run on an Allwinner H616 or something, alas. The target device in this video is an Ayn Odin 2, but it’s still cool. The trials and tribulations of Not Having AVX512, Qualcomm disabling Scalable Vector Extensions in hypervisor like a game console, and ARM vendor GPU drivers. At a high level it isn’t that hard to understand, but it is dense.

    Aethersx2 with ps2 compatibility from 2008 and gran turismo 4 is still broken with no per game settings and controller mapping is still bugged

    Under communism emulation will be good. The rpcs3 videos are nice though i like the technical depth they go into and its still my favourite emu but i just hate android handhelds for emulation

        All the android handheld YouTube channels who lie to sell the devices and paint such a dishonest picture about emulation on these things. Yeah its all so perfect my retrogamecorp that my fucking retroarch (shit chud ui) crashes when the crt shader is too sexy but only on specific cores for reasons only known to the chud developer.

        Dolphin is a shadow of its former self and thanks for making it mess with config files with entries only documented in random forums to change the sensitivity on the cstick.

        And scho on and scho on. Steamdeck is the only meaningful emulation handheld right now.

    Thanks for posting this, I just updated APS3E with last week’s patch and was able to play 2 different Motorstorm games that originally wouldn’t get past the vehicle select screen! I’m on an Odin 3, so I’ll have to check and see what settings this video uses. I’m sure it’s probably case by case tho.

    My only issue with a retroid pocket 5, and why I wasn’t sure if I should get one was it’s only got a SD 865. Now the 6 is out with the SD 8 Gen 2, same as the device in that video. Unfortunate.

    Nice that ps3 emulation will be possible for current/future handhelds though.

      I have an RP3 and it’s tough not to feel that way honestly. Also tough to imagine playing PS360 games on the go.

      Whatcookie states outright that they think PS3 will run on sub-$100 devices that fit in your pocket sooner than later, which I think is bold…
