Wir stehen für Freiheit und wollen uns verteidigen können, damit wir es nicht müssen. Daran wird sich nichts ändern
Wir stehen zur Meinungs- und Kunstfreiheit, doch auch hier gibt es Grenzen - mindestens aber muss die Kunst mit deutlichem Widerspruch leben
For Germany’s CDU, it is crystal clear: There is no genocide in Gaza; we stand with Israel and Ukraine in the fight against terror and aggression.
We stand for freedom and want to be able to defend ourselves so that we don’t have to. That will not change.
We stand for freedom of expression and artistic freedom, but there are limits here as well—at the very least, art must be able to coexist with clear dissent.
Wow so uh I feel like there’s gonna be a sea change in German politics sooner than later due to shit like this, because this is wholly emblematic of how absolutely ass-backwards Germany’s war guilt has become in the political sphere.
Never again means “never again”. Full stop. It doesn’t mean “never again to the country of Israel which is actual just a relatively small subset of Jewish people all over the world” - and a whole shitload of non-Israeli Jewish people are not at all enamored with Israel these days.
