I’m non binary pan, non religious etc.

My Muslim neighbour had a daughter some time ago, she started saying words late last year.
He taught his daughter my name already, and smiles when she says hello to me. Not because of who I am, but because of who he is.

I do not get to choose how other people live, because I do not live as them, yet for all my friends and loved ones over the years I hope they understand that this is less about our prejudice inside yet how we treat others outside and away from our inner demons.

They say Rome wasn’t built in a day, yet it wasn’t one person who went into it. Each brick which is laid, each shirt stitched, to each ladle lifted above a bowl to feed another, is done so by someone different to the person next to them. I hope that one day we can celebrate differences without having to resort to being so mean to each other.

I worked in an office of about 20 ish people upstairs, and probably double or triple that on the factory floor. My team was 14-16 people.

I had a surgery and was off work for 2 weeks. The only coworker that called to check in on, me during my time off, was the Muslim dude.

We both moved thousands of miles apart, but when we could be in the same city for work trips etc, we’d get together for a meal at a good lebonese place and easily kill 3-4 hours catching up.

The other teamembers? Most of them can’t be bothered to accept a linkedin connection. Lol
