minus-squareVenator@lemmy.nzlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·1 month agoIf your knife is sharp it can be easier to slice it into quarters with the skin on, then slice the insides as normal, and then you can just pinch the ends and invert the skin and the slices pop right out. No scooping necessary.
I do peel them when I want to slice them very cleanly, but I quarter them first. If they’re ripe you can peel the skin in one go.
If I want slices I slice them before scooping and can then scoop out nice clean slices.
