It blows my mind how many have taken to heart the religion thrust apon them by european colonists who’s sole intention was to erase indigeious culture and voice, why do so many praise the european god?
Why would folks not cherish thier own and throw out religion of the whites colonizer?
here in north america, they “re-schooled” and ran conversion operations to destroy the native culture and assimilate them into the white norms. It was brutal, violent, ugly, and genocide.
Now anyone I meet from the global south, (specifically the caribean and south/central America) is deeply christian/catholic?
A religion forced apon the people of the land with violence and no choice?

edit: I feel like if anywhere christiainity should be persecuted is the places if was forced on native populations violently with no choice, IE, south americans countries and the caribean, yet again, everyone Ive met from those places follow the colonizers relgion.

They did, in fact, have Christianity
Multiple members of religious orders went to the South before colonization, and some of them even condemned colonization

yeah, our job is to inform people, not to force them at all
is it why the history of before the missionaries and colonizers is so cloudy?
because the colonizers did their best to erase it? And seem to be successful in such?
