And I’m sure there will be an exception for this kind of debt since it’s a loan vs. “medical debt” so that it is allowed to affect your credit. Sounds like a horrible idea for anyone to actually use. Better to just incur the debt with the hospital and pay them. Most times they don’t even charge interest, or at least not much. But of course that only works for unplanned stuff like an ER visit, not medically necessary surgery or other visits which hospitals insist on prepayment for.
