Just wondering about Molchat Doma’s politics.
Or are they one of those “I disagreed with certain aspects of the CCCP but agreed with the goal” type-of people in the Eastern bloc?
They aren’t explicitly anti-communist, but they are a product of the utter despair and collapse of the Eastern bloc countries in the 90s and 2000s, when living standards fell far below that of third world countries, and millions starved, suffered, and died.
So it’s more of an angsty, anti-authority stance where they blame the communists for causing that despair.
Their other songs also lay blame on the Orthodox Church, fascists, and liberal sympathizers.
So they’re not Nazis, but they’re definitely not pro communist.
