    “Essentialnl but dying industry tries to stop people from stealing their product.” Hardly seems dystopian.

    IMO, the only dystopian thing is that we as a society decided to stop paying for one of the most essential services available.

      I don’t know, I think it’s more dystopian that most of the outlets mentioned have actively submitted to fascism.

        Ehhhhh, the headline news groups in the article are the Guardian and the New York Times. Pretty big stretch to claim they’ve actively submitted to fascism.

        And newspapers were dying long before 2015, hell it was the overarching theme to the Wire almost 2 decades ago. And a populace that refuses to pay for journalism isn’t one that should be surprised when things go horribly awry.
