“YOU and your classmates will be responsible for paying down the national debt”

JFC. Have you seen how much your president has jacked it up lately?

I wish we could put some of these political fossils in a labor camp to “pay down the national debt” until their limbs snap off.

Same Kind of shit my mom said, before blaming Democrats for their spending. Now Dems are not wholly innocent, but for the last like 80 years, it’s been the GoP that’s been increasing the national debt, and it’s not because they’re expanding spending on safety nets and education

Republicans are like the person who spends too much money on Cheap Chinese crap that they don’t need because it feels like they are getting a bunch of material stuff but it never lasts and they need to constantly buy more to replace it.

Democrats seem more like the people who spend a bunch of money on fewer but quality goods that you can rely on and don’t need to replace as often, because it also improves the quality of your experience and reliability in the future.

Both end up spending the same in the long run but one has a more reliable and higher quality household.

Not in my experience from what I’ve seen. Republicans are more than happy to punch down and send money up to the top. While that may have been like half the GOP reps 40 years ago, now it’s almost all of them. They spend tons of money on handouts to corporations and the wealthy.

While there’s no shortage of Dems doing the same, they have more often done good things for the population.

Example, Clinton balanced the budget and handed a surplus to Bush part II. Bush II took that, and cut taxes for big corporations and the wealthy, and increased spending the the military of course, but also in things to help out the big corporations. Cut things like education and safety nets. Handouts for the wealthy but not those that need it to live.

Also, both don’t end up spending the same, the GOP has always spent more (at least since the 60s). The national debt nearly doubled every time a Republican was president, and either stagnates or is reduced when a Democrat is president. We have the data on that.

Boomers are, without a doubt, the greediest, most shameless generation. Once they’re finally too old to hang on to power, we’ll still have to deal with them clogging up hospitals.

She has that boomer mentality, so I know what you mean. But she was born in 1943, so she’s technically not a boomer. She’s in the silent generation. That makes it even worse!

Eighty-fucking-two years old and writing nasty letters to little kids who bring up very reasonable requests! The old ghoul should be sitting in front of a TV watching soap operas and playing mahjong or whatever, not shuffling around in Congress ‘representing’ people.

That was built by Nixon and pals.

I know it’s fashionable to lump an entire generation as “boomer bad”, but oddly enough, that seems to be the demographic actually coming out and protesting…

Imagine being such a massive turd that you feel compelled to admonish a 10-year-old kid who wrote a homework assignment about electric cars because he thinks they’re neat and would like more people to be able to afford them. It’s not even much of a unique incident. This is just how republican politicians conduct themselves now.

We simply can’t afford electric vehicle subsidies! They’d be taking money from that pockets of hard working Americans! But we sure can afford billions in weapons to kill Iranian school children for no fucking reason!

      Omg you weren’t exaggerating:

“Your request that ‘the federal government should give a $5,000 tax rebate for all new electric car purchases’ means that the federal government must take that money out of the pockets of hardworking people who may not have the means to buy an electric vehicle in the first place,” Foxx wrote. “YOU and your classmates will be responsible for paying down the national debt,” she added pointedly, arguing that climate change wasn’t as pressing as the ballooning of the national debt.

Maybe, just maybe, he’s considered this and he’s willing to do that so, you know, there will be a future to pay the debt into?!

She offered him links to learn more about climate change from Fox News, National Review, The Washington Times, and the Wall Street Journal editorial board.

You know…gotta be love the brand of the GOP. Absolutely no science journals.

“‘Incidentally, please ask your teacher to explain propaganda to you,” Foxx wrote.

      You know what…nevermind. No notes.

Her initial point isn’t wrong pre se… “Your request that ‘the federal government should give a $5,000 tax rebate for all new electric car purchases’ means that the federal government must take that money out of the pockets of hardworking people who may not have the means to buy an electric vehicle in the first place,” Foxx wrote.

But it could be used to argue against a lot more subsidies that go to an even smaller % of the population who have significantly more means than the average elctric car buyer.

Also, the propaganda she should be refering to is that they teach kids in schools that politicians and such should be respected. That is some serious indoctrination.

means that the federal government must take that money out of the pockets of hardworking people

reminds me of the 30 billion dollars given to fossil-fuel firms in direct subsidies.

Also, WHO DO YOU THINK RAISED THE DEFICIT AND NATIONAL DEBT FOR DECADES!?!

And now she’s telling the next generation to pay for her bullshit. The nerve.

      1. Old enough to be able to say she lived through the bombs dripping in WW2. Older than the Orange Pedofascist. Old enough to prove why age limits need to be a thing. removed is expired milk that turned to cheese and separated causing the jug to explode from the gasses.

This woman looks like a corpse, and her attitude here shows she is unfit for office.

Exactly whom is she meant to represent?
