No one should be subjected to discrimination or abuse based on their faith or ethnicity. But the drumbeat of concern about this topic is part of a recurring pattern. Every time an act of Islamist terror occurs, the same thing happens. The liberal establishment that dominates the media and most every other sector of American culture begins to act as if the priority must be to prevent anyone from drawing conclusions about both the reach and motives of radical Muslims, who believe they are at war with the West.

The belief is terrifying that people in the US cannot be concerned with Islamophobia while also being concerned about antisemitism since it must be a zero sum game where any attention paid to the humanity of muslims reduces the available humanity for jews.

This kind of thinking is an insult to judaism (no I haven’t read the Torah but come on, do you really think it says “be very careful with engaging your empathy for it is limited and God despises those with too much of it”??), it is an insult to people living in the US and it is dangerously forgiving of a violent world view that strives to eliminate empathy for muslims AND jews.

Antisemitism is a real thing in the US but 9/11 SUPERCHARGED Islamophobia here. There are well documented legal cases against the NYPD for utterly heinous behavior towards muslims. The US is still nearly drowning in Islamophobia, to act otherwise is an insult to the lived history of ordinary americans who were terrified by 9/11 but grew to see hating muslims because Islam somehow makes them lesser or more violent as an absurd distraction from much more base geopolitics and thus was doubly evil serving in that capacity to sustain the endless “War On Terror”.

The NYPD’s Intelligence Bureau consistently broke court-imposed rules governing investigations involving political activity, according to a recent report by the NYPD Inspector General. But the most troubling conclusion appears in a footnote on the first page: over 95-percent of these investigations targeted Muslims or individuals associated with Islam.

On its face, the report is about NYPD non-compliance with rules governing how officers must conduct certain sensitive investigations. Sampling cases closed between 2010 and 2015, the police watchdog found that the department continued more than half of its investigations beyond authorized limits, routinely used informants and undercover officers after authorizations expired, and justified their use with boilerplate language in records that were incomplete and riddled with errors. Left largely unsaid: American Muslims bore the brunt of these violations by a staggering ratio.

A former NYPD top official claimed that NYPD officers ignore transgressions by drivers if they’re city workers or if they happen to be listeners of right-wing radio host Sid Rosenberg, who famously called Mayor Mamdani a “Radical Islam removedroach.”

The revelation by former NYPD Chief of Department John Chell came on Wednesday after the radio provocateur Rosenberg had retweeted a post by a driver who claimed an NYPD officer let him go without “a traffic ticket” when he heard Rosenberg’s show coming out of the car radio.

“I’m gonna let you go cause you’re listening to Sid,” the person claimed the cop said.

For everybody out there who hates leftists and finds them insufferable, THIS is why leftist ideology is superior to rightwing world views, the more time a leftist spends finding humanity in muslims who are superficially different to them the more a leftist will tend to also seek humanity in jews and vice versa since leftism sees engagement with both groups as not only compatible but mutually necessary to build leftist power that is truly intersectional.

The ideology of leftism is FUNDAMENTALLY not zero sum and it is FUNDAMENTALLY universalist about valuing human life as well as religious freedoms.

The kind of conservative, religious-extremist zero sum thinking that seems to be taking over the world disgusts me and it is rocketing the entire world towards World War 3.

But that is not the case with Islamophobia because that sort of proof is lacking. Over the course of the last quarter century since 9/11, FBI hate-crime statistics have consistently shown that the number of incidents involving Jews being attacked dwarfs those of any other religious group, including Muslims. The claims of a backlash against Muslims after 9/11 or the Oct. 7 attacks are always anecdotal and/or the product of radical Islamist groups like the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which was founded as a front group for those raising funds for Hamas terrorists in the United States.

Even if these statistics were right, which I doubt, why does that mean people cannot be concerned about both? What the hell? Also the use of always here as an absolute judgement of hatecrimes against muslims being imagined is very dark and again it is an insult to any honest read of the basic philosophies in judaism or any of the worlds other major religions with a long history for that matter.
