My guess was that this all started with a “key party”. They were friends, had “key party”, luck of the draw and they figure out they like each other’s spouse better. No doubt much swapping happened before the conversation was had.
In my head that is exactly how the conversation went. But there may have been booze or drugs involved in the decision making process.
