    Let’s don’t get too haughty too hasty.

    Senator Menendez finally resigned like last week.

    Also, Chicago. Just, Chicago. And I say that as a resident and major booster of this wonderful city. But the corruption is real.

      There’s a difference, though. When the Democrats get a Menendez - or a Blagojevich, or a Weiner - they don’t go to the ends of the Earth to insulate them from the consequences of their actions. Menendez was already persona non grata by the time he finally resigned, and no one would come to his defense.

        I don’t disagree with you. When they get caught, they are more likely to face consequences. I’m not saying there aren’t major differences, just that those differences are a bit less stark when it comes to finances.

          Only if you ignore everything other than the base crime itself.

          They may both commit the same crime, but the cover up is always worse than the crime, and we’ve got a cover up party that could easily rival the cosmetics industry.

      except we’ve stopped seeing republicans even resign for things. The news broke that trump may be guilty of a nearly identical crime and its unlikely he’ll resign in disgrace.
