From an insiders perspective, no, and I think the question gives american communists too much credit. It really isn’t the spectre over american society that it once was. Red scare tactics are still deployed by elites but it always falls flat amongst the populace. They don’t take the label seriously.

Uh, any excuse will do for the cruelty. Remember that anti fascist, antiAmerican, antiChristian, anticapitalist directive? I’ve been wondering when it’s going to happen for born citizens, since they’re already deporting citizens born here with the wrong skin tone. I try not to really think about it though because the alternative is cower in fear and not get chores and errands done.

My point is they won’t bother with the communist label. Whatever “communist” activity actually involves they’ll use. They’re not going to bother with “We’re going to round up the communists now!”.

They’ve already got catchall terms like “terrorist” or “nihilist extremist”. Communists aren’t a real concern. That’s just a term for someone who wants to raise the marginal tax rate.

They just passed a bi partisan bill denouncing the “horrors of socialism.” If that isn’t prep work for striping citizenship of communists and other socialists I don’t know what is.

LOL you think shit like that is new? They’ve probably passed a bill like that annually for decades. The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation has been federally funded since '93 for example.

You’re reaching way too much here. First, thats only two data points. Second, these bills are for gathering support for actions against foreign socialist states. If these resolutions can be used as a barometer for anything, its for an invasion of Venezuela.
