Hi everyone,
Our first feature drop for the new Proton Mail apps is here! 🎉
We’ve brought back some key features on iOS, and now they’re also available on Android:
- Automatically jump to the next message
- Swipe to move between messages
- Block senders
- Convert inline images to attachments
We’ve also fixed a number of bugs and refined the app experience based on your feedback, including adjustments to swipe actions and the position of the logout button.
Thank you for helping us make Proton Mail better with every update. We appreciate all your feedback and patience throughout the rollout.
You can update now from the App Store or Play Store.
Yet the source code still isn’t public. It’s been at “As we’re rolling it out gradually to ensure a bug free experience, source code will be available at a later time on our GitHub repo.” for the last 2 months. Later time probably means in a year at this point.

Comparing Andy to Peter Thiel is wild.
When did he do that? I’ve seen a lot of mentions about his “good pick” post, but never openly saying something like that.
Link to the story (I only read ~25% of article since it matched with my recollection of events)
I leave it as an exercise for you to determine the level of hyperbole your respondee was using.
That is the exact controversy I was referring to. It’s been almost a year and people still bring it up? Jesus.
I feel the same.
While not good feels when it rolled out, its not like that’s come up since (at least not that I’ve heard).
There are other things to object about Proton (rolling out a bitcoin wallet and focusing on AI over getting their current products up to par with their competitors), but, like this feels like a giant nothing burger people overly focus on.
If I get sent a message that’s too wide to show on my iPhone, your app won’t let me zoom out enough to see it properly.
But priorities.
is that a thing? I’ve not received every form of email to exist in modern day, but how is a dynamically rendered email-body “too wide to show” on an iPhone screen?
I get an email. It runs off the side of the screen. I zoom out. It snaps back when I let go of the screen to read it.
No other email app behaves this way. None.
