edit: i should make explicit. this meme is prodding at liberals humanizing the soldier of the 14th Waffen SS (1st Galicia) recently honoured in the canadian house of commons. this meme is showing off a ww2 ukrainian nazi unit in a fashion similarly done with the “brave soldiers of afghanistan” who would later become the taliban.

I don’t know, who is ignoring azov? When azov was still a thing - because they got decimated in Mariupol - everybody in the west knew they were nazi sympathisers. The problem was never “Russia is lying there are zero nazis”, it was “having a bunch of nazis integrated in the army doesn’t make it a nazi regime”. But yeah caricaturing the other side is very tempting.
Remind me again, which side is whitewashing the SS?
I don’t know, which one is it? I’m not aware of any side actually painting the ss in a positive light, except for the imagination of Russians where the west is praising nazis all the time.
