Woah, by that logic with those articles, she only became a woman in 2020 as well.

      Almost like people contain multitudes.

Yeah, just keep questioning people’s racial heritage. That’s a totally normal thing to do that will help the Trump Cult win more supporters. Great job!

you do know what “first” means, right? she wasn’t the first black senator so they didn’t mention that in 2016. and in 2020 first black woman as a VP candidate is more important than first Indian woman just because of demographics, so they highlighted that. but when she was VP both firsts were mentioned in news.

Last time I checked, Americans can be black. Indian-American doesn’t inherently mean Indian/White.

I was looking for just the clip of this to share, but could only find the full 15+ min vid. It’s been cracking me since Monday, because I’m seeing this actual reaction in real-time.

I got it from The Daily Show’s Instagram account. They put together screenshots and clips for a lot of their jokes. So if you’re ever looking for something specific, it’s worth checking there.

Why did they all of a sudden drop the indian part? If she were white-Indian, they would NEVER say, a white woman for Prez.

It wasn’t, nor is it now, being hidden. Some reporters are more interested in her black heritage and others in her Indian heritage, and the overall context of the piece also factors into that. But by and large, “left” leaning outlets haven’t paid a whole ton of attention to her race as it doesn’t fucking matter. However, Republicans sure as shit have been very vocal about hee “blackness” and are now all “omg, but she’s Indian heritage, too, and we haven’t even dug into that. HoW COuLD thE LeFT Do ThIS tO Us?!?!”

Honestly, conservatives have become so transparently ratfuck racist with their attacks on Harris, it’s beyond wild. So tired of hearing pudgy white old dudes screech about “DEI” and not realize how INSANELY racist that is.

Her Indian heritage wasn’t hidden. Until Republicans, she was just American with a heritage, like the rest of us. It was just that no one cared. Raphael Cruz changed his name to fit in. There is a pattern.

Again, look at this title of this post. And the interviewer kept referring to her as a black woman.
