Location: CA, USA

I have some neighbors who regularly have a huge bash lasting all night long - it’s happened every Cinco de Mayo for nearly a decade.

This year - nothing.

The whole town is quiet. This used to be one of the noisiest days of the year. Is anyone else noticing this in their community?

    I think a lot of people in general are kind of busy worrying about other shit than getting all wrapped up in celebratory practices/traditions. kthx

          You don’t think maybe with what’s going on people might be afraid of celebrating their ethnicity? When ethic people are the target of ICE?

          I mean it’s a fairly logical conclusion to come to.

          Also I never said it’s the only reason, there might be many factors, but to say it’s stupid to think the current situation with ICE has nothing to do with it…. Well that’s just stupid.
