What could be the biggest surprise of the year — The Last of Us Part II Remastered releases on Steam on April 3rd, and Valve just gave it the green Steam Deck Verified checkmark.
A part of the “Verified” or “Playable” badges is the performance of a game on a Steam Deck. If it can’t run well at all, it will get an “Unsupported” badge, ex. the remake of Silent Hill 2.
That misses the point. The Last of Us Part I is Steam Deck verified, but it consumes far too many resources.
Do note that I’m not just talking about the Deck. Some hardware can run it smoothly, some can’t, but in all cases, it’s an insultingly bloated pig of a port.
