That’s not how these things work. I worked in a field adjacent to the oil industry for a while, and a lot of the shady shit the industry did were pretty much “open secrets” that would be discussed in informal settings.

Of course nobody will corroborate anything because they don’t want to bite the hand that feeds, and most of the stuff you hear is second hand info anyways. If you started digging, you’d get blackballed pretty quickly.
