Generated Summary:
This YouTube video analyzes Bernie Sanders’s “Fight the Oligarchy” tour, highlighting his criticisms of the wealthy and powerful influencing politics. Key points include:
- The Tour’s Purpose: Sanders is targeting districts Biden won in 2020 but Democrats lost in 2024, aiming to regain support within the Democratic party.
- Sanders’s Rhetoric: He strongly criticizes billionaire influence and calls for a working-class agenda, drawing large crowds at his rallies.
- AOC’s Involvement: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is joining Sanders on the tour.
- Criticism of Sanders: The video criticizes Sanders for not explicitly condemning the Democratic party’s ties to the oligarchy, given his past endorsements of figures like Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris, who have accepted contributions from wealthy donors.
- The Gaza Conflict: The video discusses Sanders’s reluctance to label the situation in Gaza a genocide, despite acknowledging the horrific events. The YouTuber argues this demonstrates Sanders’s tendency to avoid strong stances on controversial issues.
- The Incident with Supporters: The video’s main focus is on a recent incident where Sanders abruptly dismissed his own supporters who politely inquired about the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil. The YouTuber interprets this as evidence of Sanders’s true nature and his unwillingness to take strong action against injustices, even when directly confronted by his own supporters. The video includes footage of the encounter and the subsequent arrest of Khalil, highlighting the alleged lack of resistance during the arrest.
- Conclusion: The YouTuber concludes that Sanders’s actions demonstrate a pattern of avoiding strong stances and ultimately serving to maintain the status quo rather than enacting significant change. The video suggests Sanders is more focused on maintaining the Democratic party’s power base than on truly challenging the oligarchy.

It seems if we want to have better, we have to be better.
Thank you for the summary! But dang, that is one way to jump to conclusions. If you want an opinion on this Mahmoud guy, let’s wait until the case is over. Because right now, it is a mess.
To be fair, I don’t expect the us government to come out of this case having done the right thing
I agree, but that must start by putting pressure and forcing our politicians, who represent the people, to do our bidding.
But dang, that is one way to jump to conclusions
Being critical of what politicians do, vote on, and support will affect how people see them; these are recorded and can be seen, so pressure must be added as quickly as possible from past experiences.
To be fair, I don’t expect the us government to come out of this case having done the right thing
Yes, and that is why we can’t be apologetics or celebrity worshipers to politicians; we have to force them and pressure them to do the right thing.
Sabby addresses the issues we have with Bernie Sanders when it comes to Mahmoud and the others being detained.
There’s better ways to express criticism. You could say “I expect x” or “this comes at the risk of y”. but instead this person points out a conclusion that doesn’t appear to have much footing. Perhaps it will at some point. Same for the generalizing bit at the end.
“Lefty” with videos supporting Trump policies (stim check for ‘waste’ found by felon while we subsidies him for millions per day) but shitting on one of the most progressive voices in congress…
And their username references somebody who said trump was better for progressives than clinton.
Edit: Jimmy Dore also said that he’d prefer McCain to Obama because it’d be better for comedians such as himself.
It seems to me that you may be confused in your guessing on what the video is about and Sabby’s political stance on “Trump policies.”
It is understandable in your confusion; it seems many in this community don’t see criticism of Bernie from the left and just expect and blindly assume it comes from the right of Bernie.
You may encounter more views like these if you explore viewpoints from independent journalists and independent commentators that are to the left of Bernie.
You will see a pattern if you take the time to learn about these criticisms these people have; spoiler: they supported Bernie and volunteered for him in 2016 and 2020.
Some came to certain conclusions on Benrie’s willingness to truly fight the status quo and the duopoly once he continued to push people towards the Blue No Matter Who party again and again and again.
Oh boy. If you turn on Bernie Sanders, who is left that actually passes your virtue test? He’s probably the only person who has been going around saying the correct lesson after the 2024 failure.
Yes, but he stops short on certain major issues.
Sabby expands on these issues really well, with receipts.
We just have to be willing to learn from those that don’t align with our way of thinking.
Edit: improved wording, sentence structure, spacing for easier reading
Sounds like a Youtuber desperate for likes and subscriptions who manipulates video to attract viewers who will watch the advertisers and generate ad revenue for him.
It’s really a shame that regular people started manufacturing their own bullshit now. Then again … this could be a Russian op.
That being said, I’m not even going to bother watching a second of this trash.
That being said, I’m not even going to bother watching a second of this trash.
Sadly, that does not surprise me from someone that uses “Russian op” as a desperate final retort to disagree with people that don’t think like you want them to.
Sabby Sabs has a proven record of being a true leftist, a person for the working class, and vital to her community (with a mutual aid organization).[1]
Criticism is healthy, but I suggest going a bit further when you encounter posts that don’t align with your way of thinking.
The more we let this view-driven garbage into our brain the more it poisons us.
I don’t know if the criticism is accurate, and I don’t care. This video accomplishes nothing of value except generating views for the YouTube advertisers and a few pennies per view for the channel ‘owners.’ It is intended to generate income by causing ‘controversy,’ yet that controversy results in nothing of value for the people who view it other than a temporary distraction. Beyond that, it contributes firepower for those who would doom the working class to wasting their time on internet-generated arguments that have no practical impact on their day-to-day lives.
It is unproductive and does nothing to further the cause of the working class otherwise, and should rightly be ignored for that reason.
This sounds a lot like fundamentalist Christians criticizing any view of Christianity that doesn’t comform to their own.
Wow, you surprised me by replying!
I don’t know if the criticism is accurate, and I don’t care.
Ah, now it makes sense why you have no retorts with substance for what Sabby points out: the major issues with Bernie on Mamud Khalil, his continued support for the oligarchy, the duopoly, and the Palestine genocide.
It is expected, though, when you criticize Bernie from the left.
Smearing is the go-to for those on the right of Bernie.
All is well, peace!
Until all of us, if every creed and none, every political leaning and none, learn to look in the mirror and do the painful, gross, stinky shadow work of recognizing what we see in others as aspects of us we hide from ourselves and work to correct that and heal our wounds, rather than wounding others, it will continue to get worse, until we annihilate ourselves and a bunch of other species.
Yes, we always need to work on ourselves and never stop learning and fighting our own biases, especially when talking to people that don’t think like we do.
Thanks for those words and for the reminder!
Thanks so much. It was more in general to all of us, rather than you, specifically. Your comment just gave opening for the reply. I do so much appreciate the tiresome thankless work you do, and the slings and arrows that accompany it. You have inspired and succored my own inspiration, when it flags. Onward! ✊*
It’s a complete garbage video at the surface level. No strong stances?
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) is bringing six measures, known as the Joint Resolutions of Disapproval, to the Senate floor for a vote. The bills, also backed by Sens. Peter Welch (D-Vermont), Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon) and Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii), would block the sales of six different kinds of weapons to Israel, worth a total of $20 billion.
That YouTuber has zero credibility. Nobody will ever care what they say. We’re never going to engage with them, fact check them, or anything because it’s so transparently clickbait trash that seeing any part of it makes our lives worse.
Thanks for the reply and for linking (not the issue being brought up, link is offtopic), but the major issue we have with Bernie is his cowardice in not calling what is happening in Palestine a genocide.
It’s a complete garbage video at the surface level. No strong stances?
The video addresses this and states it in a simple manner.
All issues with Bernie are addressed in calling him out specifically with a record of where he continues to fail the working class.
Again, this is criticism from the left of Bernie, not the right, so it is understandable why there is confusion.
That’s super dumb. The link is not off topic, he was trying to stop arms shipments to Israel. He’s called it ethnic cleansing. Not using a specific word is irrelevant, because he’s repeatedly and strongly doing the work to help those people.
Not using a specific word is irrelevant
It seems we will not agree on this issue.
Being direct and truthfully calling what is happening in Palestine is a major deal for those that know and have seen the videos coming out of Palestine and the IDF.
Again, Sabby explains this in simple-to-understand points while addressing the reasons for her views and continued criticisms of Bernie on these specific issues.
Spoiler: Bernie is again and again and again just pushing people back to the status quo of the duopoly, which Sabby addresses at the end of the video.
