I sincerely don’t know what is going on but after installing that package I was made aware that apparently the camera I have connected to my computer has a built in microphone. But which is apparently not useable as a recording device. So I have to wonder to where is that sound going.

Edit: something is seriously wrong. The microphone I have built-in to my headphones started working when I first added the package. After I disconnected the USB camera, it stopped registering on the system. And now it does not pick uo sound to record on Audacity.

I’ve compared tyre tracks between brands and some are near clones. We had a car fitted with english-made tyres with a thread nearly identical to a Firestone. Even the fitter noted that.

What I can confirm is the noise level usually differs, with cheaper brands usually in the C category but higher grades are starting to be seen.

Source: I have a good friend working at a construction materials depot. They stock a wide variety of flooring, from different manufacturer, and the materials only differ in finish not build. The materials are even supplied in bulk, not by category, and the end seller prices it has they see fit. An “oak finish” floor may be double or triple of what a standard “pine” or “spruce” costs.

I drive daily for professional reasons and the company I work for uses a fleet management service to maintain the vehicles. I’ve seen tyre brands being fitted that I was advised against for my personal vehicle at the store I usually bought tyres. The cheaper tyres last as long and in a few occasions longer than so called first line brands. This isn’t to say there are no poor quality tyres but the main manufacturers are not that much better from the rest of the pack as they used too.

If it’s only organic, pour bleach on it or, better yet, sodium hypochlorite. It will dissolve pretty much all that should go down a toilet.

My country has a multi-party parliament and after the local flavour of fascists found its way into it, the parties that defined themselves as center, either center-left or center-right and center-center, diverged sharply into authoritarian (even if more or less subdued or veiled) rethoric and strong-arm policy, resorting to the fascist party for support for implementing policies, being those parties currently in office.

The “left” is still what it always was: pro humanitarian, sensible to the plights of the workers, immigrants, women, LGBTQ+, etc, but gets thrown the usual mixed bag of insults and dismissals to keep the public entertained and enraged against those parties and maintain the status quo.

I understand you position but it is an unsustainable one. You have to define your stance on issues and fully reject labelling. As you carry your position it is a handful of nothing. And I do understand and respect your remark on seeing such matter reduced to tribalisms because they are but defining oneself as being right, center or left is equivalent to subscribing to a political horoscope: it’s reductionist, generalist and simply stupid.

I’ve had the opposite nearly happening to me once. The vehicles we normally use are normal cars. And there is a stupid tendency for new cars to don’t have the option to turn off the autolock function. I was almost locked outside a car, with the key in the ignition. There was no immediate or potential danger in the situation but it was stupid nonetheless.
