Does it prevent the initial .gitignore from being commited too?
For example, what if a file name had sensitive information. It’s bad practice, but someone might want to ignore the file while also hiding the ignore rule itself.

Someone might want to selectively omit the second file while keeping the first, but not show what they are hiding.
I was thinking manually written and scheduled posts, the only difference from now being that a post gets pinned on a particular day
Although someone would also need to make a judgment call about what community to give that extra promotion to, which might create unnecessary controversy
We could definitely do that over in [email protected], especially if someone is willing to help plan that out. Since Piefed has scheduled posts, it should be possible to schedule out posts for different communities
While I don’t know if the stream will be monetized, I can see how the event being profitable would incentivize more of it

I think Interstellar and Voyager are available on both android and Linux
Personally I would suggest picking different apps on each, since it’s all the same backend data. A mobile focused app may not behave as nicely on desktop.
You can likely also run some of the alternative UIs as PWAs or full apps, but I haven’t explored that yet

Snapper creates snapshots when updating, and if you ever get a bad boot, you shut off and pick an earlier snapshot in the initial boot menu. It’s one of the options you can pick during the initial setup, if I recall correctly, so you don’t need to set it up yourself and risk making mistakes

It depends on how the person is sharing the image.
If they upload it directly or link to the image file on a website that supports it, then it will appear nicely. Otherwise you might need to click on it in order to see it
Most of the new devices I see are using the hard to find components (DDR5) while refurbished devices from a few years ago have more than enough RAM for school. Also capacity matters more than generation for RAM, assuming we’re talking DDR4 vs DDR5
I wish I learned this sooner, but the best device for school is a generic laptop that you can easily find guides and replacement parts for. That way you can fix things quickly in the middle of a term instead of needing to wait months for the manufacturer to deal with it

Also, we had some unexpected extra costs (over 1000,–) when we had to pay taxes for the foundation (strange, for a non-profit…). I’ll see if we can get an accountant to check this, but also accountants are costly…

Yes completely fair! I’m actually not sure about what would count as a separate “piece” with glassware and ceramics. There’s probably a mereological argument for why its one or the other
