I can imagine the horse could also try to pet an employee. But how would bee do that? With its sting?

World News@lemmy.world•Donald Trump cuts all US trade with Spain over Iran war disputeEnglish
16·7 days agoMaybe losing in the short time, but getting rid of fossil dependency is in my opinion a good thing. And most of the other things have (maybe suboptimal) alternatives.
Also, now Trump has no leverage against Spain, so that’s another good thing? And its time to increase trade with China, India, etc. 😸

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there any reason not to charge my laptop with a USB C phone charger?English
3·8 days agoI think there should be written somewhere what the computer needs. For example 20V 3A ~ 60W. I don’t know how much voltage the super fast phone chargers have, but looking only at power isn’t enough.
Just for curious readers: I noticed some annoyance with my laptop, it has 100W mode, but only with the original charger. So just plugging it into a dock with original charger attached limits the laptop to 65W only. And if I tried (mainly out of curiosity) charging with an insufficient phone charger, CPU switched to 300MHz and everything got very laggy. The same thing happened when I connected two of the USB ports together :D

3·17 days agoEU doesn’t have any legal tools to deal with this situation. Hungary has veto right. So it can veto any attempt to remove its veto. (Not an expert, but that’s what I heard) But if Orban is gone, there is still Slovakia. And now my home country Czechia :(

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Consumerism ahhhhh momentEnglish
1·17 days agoI never said that I shouldn’t hear about it, only it shouldn’t have advertising. So recommendations by friends are helpful, so is personal experience in a store or review by trusted source. And for example, all of FOSS software doesn’t have ads for them and often is better than paid counterparts.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Consumerism ahhhhh momentEnglish
6·18 days agoThere are some exceptions, for example I still hate a company for their yt ads I saw before I figured out how to block them on phone. It has been like 6 years, the company was sold and name was changed, but I still remember to hate it and avoid it. Also, good products don’t need advertisement, so if I can remember I saw an ad for something, I’d prefer other brand.
Some Trackmania players switch between keyboards, controllers or steering wheels based on the current track for example. Also, navigating some menues is better with mouse or keyboard, but laptop inbuilt controls should be enough for that.
