They are 1200mm x 1000mm x 200mm. Which is standard UK pallet dimensions, as these are pallet collars, which is why they actually have hinges on the corners so they fold flat for storage. Not much use now, but I like the look they give!

I expect there’ll be some persistent grass, but it shouldn’t be too bad so long as I keep on removing as much as possible when it appears. My other established bed has the grass growing out of the seams issue, so I’m somewhat used to it I suppose, lol.
Thanks! I put a layer of cardboard down first to kill off the grass, which will all compost down so the roots can access the undisturbed soil below.
No burrowing pest issues here, thankfully, mainly badgers and foxes that I have to keep off with the mesh hoops you can just see on the furthest beds.
Thanks! These work out at about £80 per bed. But they absolutely could have been done much cheaper!
I bought brand new pallet collars, but used ones are probably available with a bit of searching. I’d already used all my home made compost in another higher bed, so had to buy all of what went into these.
Anyone know if Chicken Thoughts is on the fediverse anywhere?

I suppose it puts a tick in a box somewhere.
ilovecheese@feddit.ukto United Kingdom@feddit.uk•Boy, 15, is first person charged with riot over recent English disorderEnglish3·11 months agoSo it’s more a case of general ‘mob mentality’ rather than a belief in their bigoted cause? That makes sense.
ilovecheese@feddit.ukto United Kingdom@feddit.uk•Boy, 15, is first person charged with riot over recent English disorderEnglish7·11 months agoIt’s good they’ve started with the online ‘influencers’, but is it likely that so many young (11-15 iirc) kids became so radicalized so quickly just from these online sources?

So people want the adults that radicalized these kids to get off with no punishment?
That’s a hot take I didn’t expect from here!
ilovecheese@feddit.ukto United Kingdom@feddit.uk•Boy, 15, is first person charged with riot over recent English disorderEnglish11·11 months agoSo they will be going after the groomers next, right? Right?
edit for clarity; the groomers of the multiple far-right kids that have so far been charged.
How did you guess?
Look you’ve been shot down so many times by so many people, but ‘they’re all wrong and I’m right’ is your take away?
I’m beginning to think troll rather than misguided.
I’ll say it loud so those at the back can hear too:
YOU CAN’T FIGHT RACISM WITH MORE RACISM!
It really is quite simple.
Blocking you seems like the best idea in this thread so far.
Absolutely we all have blind spots, I just think OP’s blind spot is addressing ‘white people’ like none of us live with, and around many cultures, not just races.
If someone were to address my local Polish or Bangladeshi or Muslim or whatever community the same way OP is addressing ‘white people’ in this post I would call it borderline racist and in fact it would fit in OP’s original ‘don’t do’ list.
I appreciate it probably comes from good intentions, but generalizing how entire groups of people should change to suit another group of people is a slippery slope.
Absolutely a top tip! Oh the price of convenience, huh? :)
