How very charitable of you.
How very charitable of you.
He’s not weird.
^ perfect answer, IMO.
I get your frustration. “Why won’t they accept our help dammit” is a common refrain. But it’s one that assumes that (a) homelessness is a simple matter of not being housed and (b) housed people understand the appropriate solutions. In fact not being housed is mostly a symptom and the issues at play are much more complex, ranging from lack of opportunity and generational poverty to substance and mental health issues.
And it’s also a cause… of shame, guilt, more mental health issues, more substance abuse. Often these mix in with the preconditions that come with offers of “help” to make it impossible to say yes.
I have refused housing because I didn’t think I could live up to the obligations it came with. I’ve refused housing because it was clearly unsafe. And I’ve refused housing simply because I was suffering from severe untreated depression and couldn’t handle being around people or even just accepting help.
So the truth is that yes, no one wakes up and chooses homelessness… but it’s important to understand that the lack of housing is only one component of homelessness. I didn’t choose to be born trans & gay and have to deal with all the mental health and societal issues that came with that. But I choose to not being housed at times because that was the only way I could even attempt to heal and deal with it safely and on my terms.
“And now, for our next trick, we will proceed to criminalizing poverty!”
“The proof is that there isn’t any proof”
Sums it up beautifully. I am so stealing this. Thank you!
I knew it! They ARE blowing smoke!
The next one is that she is not a real woman if they are sticking to the GOP playbook.
Well she is black after all… so that totally follows in MAGAtstan.
Oh he’s never tried to hide that he’s for sale… e.g. https://www.budget.senate.gov/chairman/newsroom/press/budget-finance-committees-launch-joint-investigation-into-donald-trumps-quid-pro-quo-offer-to-big-oil-
Absolutely, but if you were really interested in facts this information is not hard to find once you stop watching cable news…… I doubt you’ll read any of it but here is a random google search….
Your snark, arrogance and cynicism are unwarranted and inappropriate.
But I do appreciate your providing some info - I was genuinely curious and didn’t quite know where to find this evidence - initial searches did not turn up the kind of “overwhelming evidence” you claimed existed. I’m not for a second disputing the USA’s involvement in coup attempts or regime change in general - I think this is quite adequately documented. But your claim was that there is “…overwhelming evidence Blinken has supported multiple coup attempts” but the best you can do is to essentially say he’s guilty of this personally because he has worked for the US government.
That’s honestly pretty weak.
That’s the worst I’ve heard about Harris so far from the conservatives I know.
Oh rest assured they do far far worse. DEI hire, slept her way to the top… all the hits from the same old show.
Care to share that evidence?
If only it were physically possible to change that. Alas, the fifth law of thermodynamics says profit above all.
It is possible to change it, of course, but every attempt thus far has ended in authoritarian political systems with even less opportunity for you to be housed, fed and well cared for, much less able to get things like affordable EVs.
I’m pretty convinced, sadly, that this is mainly because humans basically suck.
By minimizing costs, including R&D. Further, the lower the price the lower the profit and usually the lower the margin. Companies are not incentivitized to make less money.
This is pretty basic stuff…
Ford could put all their R&D money into developing low-cost EVs,
Thus making the EVs very expensive… just sayin’
Edit: I don’t know why you are downvoting. These are economic realities as they exist today. More R&D => greater costs => higher price. Fully Automated Luxury Communism is, unfortunately, not a likely reality in our lifetimes.
I feel like “Republican objections” is kinda redundant here.
I’ve had good luck with them over 3 pairs. I get the exam at Costco and then buy from Zenni. The most expensive pair so far has been $108 for progressives with anti-glare etc although that was during a sale. They are better quality and have lasted longer than almost anything I’ve got from the traditional optometrists places, even when I’ve gone higher end. Even better, you can select the distance for computer, mid or distance - I wear one of 4 pairs depending on what I’m doing - AND they don’t check your prescription so you can use an old one if you know that works for you.
Ain’t never going back.
Being internally happy and content.
And yet 5/10 keep electing fuckwits.
Exactly. This headline is inaccurate garbage. It should be something like “Trump blames Iran” + preferably “without evidence”
