I’m not sure about actual functional definitions, but I think of it based on the size of the various cities involved. Metro seems to be used when referring to relatively large cities and towns that have blurred together to the point you move between them without distinct separation. Whereas Greater is applied when there is still a more clear separation between the core “big city” and the suburban towns around it.

That’s weird about this to me, I never would have called Seinfeld right leaning. Like every one of his standups I’ve ever seen is very neutral, and the show was actually pretty progressive for the time. Chapelle did the punching down, got called out on it (rightfully so), and then doubled down and swung to the right because now he’s the victim! But as far as I know, Jerry didn’t do anything (In terms of jokes, ignoring the… youthfulness… issues for the moment) He just decided to bust out with I’m a victim too stop censoring me?
