2·1 month agoHmm, I’ve definitely been browsing both Hexbear and Lemmygrad in the past ~2.5 hours, but this is the first I’m seeing the notification.
On my prior test, federation in both directions worked quickly, giving it another shot.

2·1 month agoHadn’t federated at about 2:15 after I posted, but federated now. Other places I’ve been watching appear close to matching if not fully federated again. Hopefully this one shows up quick!

In a February 13 meeting about the issue, a top district official allegedly explained something along the lines of, “What may not have had a political message in the past could be one now,” according to notes from the exchange. “[The] [m]oment we present a political or personal belief we violate the law…the color of the hands is crossing the political boundary.”

4·3 months agoI’m by no means claiming to be the best read. Their prior banned accounts are on hexbear and lemmy.ml - same name, though the post style would be easily recognizable unless they significantly change it up.
I’ve pointed them towards several podcasts previously and highlighted specific episodes related to things they’ve “struggled” with as an alternative to reading. Videos aren’t really my thing, so if that’s their medium I certainly haven’t helped.
Despite multiple people who seem to land on the “bit” side, I’ve continued to engage in the hope that they’re being genuine about the core of their beliefs, but

8·3 months agoThey’ve said they’re autistic - I probably wouldn’t still be engaging with them otherwise, and at this point I think I’m 95% on the “it’s a shitty bit” side, but that’s definitely managed to string me along across 3 accounts so far. I wonder what take will get this one banned.

6·3 months agoI already have, and I don’t see any need to explicitly state that over and over given that you can clearly infer it just fine.
I’ve even suggested some alternatives to reading previously in the hope they’d be an easier entry point.
I don’t particularly expect anything different at this point.
you post the same things over and over again and don’t seem to actually incorporate any of the feedback you get in response.

5·3 months agoQuick question: if the US becomes a socialist/communist country during the Great Depression (like in the althistory story “Reds! A Revolutionary Timeline”), would you like that US more than the one we have?
Historical revisionism.
