Clearly most people don’t consider forced labor slavery in a prison environment. At least not in California or any of the other states that allow it.

I voted against it because I think they are plenty of prisoners that want to work, so we don’t need to be forcing people, but I also understand how people could just consider it a part of the punishment too. I mean, you take away so many rights of a person when you imprison them. What makes this facet special? Is it because we used the magic word slavery and so people suddenly feel guilty because of America’s past?

The prisons themselves litreally didn’t care enough to even argue against it, which should tell you how little this actually impacts their workforce. My understanding was that people were just getting upset at having to do wildfire related work when things started getting dangerous after they reaped all the rewards and training for that job.

It’s like being a firefighter for the pay, chili, and comradery, then balking when you are told to go fight a fire. Your average person could do that and probably be fired on the spot. Prisoners don’t get to make that decision.

There’s this strange conservative delusion the gun control means no guns. Not allowing fully automatic weapons of war in the hands of citizens is reasonable. Not just letting any random person with a history of violence is reasonable gun control. Making sellers go through the effort to enforce the rules in place instead of subverting it for a sale or their personal beliefs is reasonable.

I’m pretty liberal and I think you should have a right to have a handgun and rifle if you are a competent adult, with the same regulations we use regarding cars. Personally, it’s probably wise for women and lgbtq+ to open carry in morr conservative areas for a while.

I think we also assume most Mexicans care about the wall when that isn’t a factor for the vast majority. Most come and get their court dates and are capable of passing the boarder legally.

There’s hyperbole there, but blaming the loss on those factors assumes that people couldn’t have possibly abstained from voting, or voted against her without those factors. I don’t believe that’s the case.

Too frequently we call people these things and basically lock them out of discussion. For example, if you called me a racist, I’d no longer trust anything else you said to me because I know myself and clearly you like telling people things you know nothing about. I think that exchange happened with a bunch of people, which is why there were so many people who just assumed many of the things said about Trump were just political lies made to discredit him. After they experienced the same hyperbole themselves.

That said… theres alot of bigots out there too.

Easy, don’t make rules banning the subjects people want to talk about. Are we so concerned about people’s thumbs we can ask them to just scroll past content that doesn’t interest them but suits the theme of the community?

He doesn’t owe any of them that keep letting him come back without paying his bill. Tabs are for bars, not cities. If they want the money, they need to be willing to make him look like a cheapskate and cancel the event. The local authorities must be supporters of his to let it keep happening. Yeah, always an option. I mean it won’t alleviate any of the world’s problems but if you like chaos and death by America’s hands it’s an option counties can take.

We do and we dont. Almost 350 million people have differences of opinion quite frequently. Thankfully most of the world thinks our positives outweighs our negatives.

Either that or they are too weak to stop us in any meaningful way. We’ve seen how many genocides over the past few years from superpowers and no one does anything? Only way you’ll see a real check on America or China’s power is through a world War which everyone rightfully wants to avoid.

Well for one, he’d make it worse for Americans, specfically women.

America often acts it’s own self interests which are going to run counter to the world sometimes. But if I am chosing between voting to benefit my fellow Americans or some other country… it’s gonna be America. I expect and witness the same from every other country as well.

Every one you mentioned is great! I really enjoy all of the villainess isekai, and Trapped in a Dating Sim is really a hilarious variation that came early in the dating sim sub genre. I love it when the main character is a villain.

Ascendance of a Bookworm is a favorite of my wife and I. We’ve rewatched it a few times, as it has a cozy feel to it sometimes. I really hope they continue the story but it is at a decent enough stopping point if doesn’t get any more seasons.
